Definite Major Purpose
“Why are you here?” “What do you want?” These two questions have been actively playing tennis between my conscious and subconscious mind for the last two weeks! Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating. Yet when you think about what you think about, and you commit to controlling your thoughts to think about what you want to think about, it is an active declaration of the war of your mind!!! It takes such focus and discipline that a workout in the gym feels like childs play on the play ground. The highs of this journey are all the opportunities to say no and make conscious choices. Then I read my study for the week and learn that my darn subconscious (subby) is really in control. So I rest for a bit. Yet even in my rest, my awareness and commitment to being conscious can sometimes be exhausting. The sitting practice we have committed to is something I look forward to because I know no decision has to be made or action has to be taken. The choice to be still is actually a break from the work described above.
So, the title of this post is Definite Major Purpose. Since I’m taking a break to write this I will ask you the reader, What is your Definite Major Purpose? Why are you here? What do you want? I really want to know your answer. I want you to know that you are not alone and that the journey to realize the answers to these questions is what has us get up in the morning. And if you don’t want to get up in the morning, then I really encourage you to answer these questions. I promise your answer will truly make a difference not only in your life, but in someone elses life as well. Each of us is a light to someone else even when we don’t know it. Each of us has a purpose whether we choose it or not. Please choose. Living your life will allow, support and encourage another to live their life. And guess what? That’s why you are here!
